Her table massage sessions blend a number of lighter and deeper techniques including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Soft Tissue Release and Neuromuscular Technique. Maureen also offers Thai Massage for women, which is performed on a futon-like mat on the floor. She is experienced working with clientele with diverse age ranges, health conditions and session goals. Insurance ProviderMaureen is a Preferred Provider for Premera Blue Cross and LifeWise Health Plan of Washington, Aetna, Cigna and Corvel. She also accepts PIP (Personal Injury Protection) insurance claims. ExperienceIn addition to her 9 years of private practice, Maureen's massage experience includes four years massaging at both the Seattle Tennis Club and as a member of the AMTA-WA Sports Massage Team. She has experience massaging at athletic events including STP (Seattle to Portland), the Seattle Marathon and RAW (Ride around Washington). She is currently working with Group Health Research Institute on a study of appropriate massage dosage for neck pain. She also works with the residents of Horizon House, a continual care retirement community in downtown Seattle. Office FeaturesThe office is located in the clinic above Fremont Coffee and is a comfortable and safe atmosphere in which to receive a massage. Office features include a heated massage table and cozy flannel sheets. If you arrive early, enjoy a cup of hot tea or filtered water in the clinic waiting area. Massage PhilosophyMassage sessions are focused on meeting her client's health goals, which often include: relaxation, self-care, pain relief and injury treatment. Maureen enjoys sharing her knowledge of anatomy and helping clients achieve their personal health goals. She encourages clients to consider how their lifestyle contributes to their posture, holding habits, stress levels and injuries. She also encourages clients to pay attention to how their body feels so they can determine how often to get a massage. Her hope is that each of her clients will make self-care a priority.
